BAA Reopening Family Zoom Meetings:
- Wednesday, August 5 from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm and
- Thursday, August 6 from 10:00 am-11:00 am on
Both meetings will have the same information. At the meetings we will share the following and have time for questions and feedback:
- The latest guidance from the Massachusetts Department of Education (DESE) on safety guidelines
- The latest information from Boston Public Schools about what the school year will look like and calendar
- Our BAA plan and schedule for a full opening, a remote opening, and a hybrid (students are in school part time) opening
On Tuesday, August 4, we will send you information you can review in advance and Zoom codes for the meetings.
Beginning July 1, 2018, during construction of new facilities at 174 Ipswich Street, both Boston Arts Academy and the Boston Arts Academy Foundation will be temporarily relocated.
Boston Arts Academy will be at 11 Charles Street, Dorchester, MA 02122, in Fields Corner.
The Boston Arts Academy Foundation will be at 45 Temple Place, 4th Floor, Boston, MA 02111.
Boston Arts Academy (BAA) is the city’s only public high school for the visual and performing arts, serving more than 470 students who reflect the diversity of Boston’s neighborhoods. We offer pathways to success to urban students who otherwise might not have access to both formal arts training and a college preparatory education.

A proud immigrant from the Dominican Republic, Alex recently became a United States citizen and plans to become a lawyer. He attended Salem State University, and is now District Director for the office of State Senator Jason Lewis. Through his work as a community organizer and project manager, Alex puts his BAA theatre training into action. At BAA, he learned the importance of ensemble work, effective communication, and to be open to new options. Alex is working to make a difference in his new country by combating ignorance and fear.
